Our St Mary's St store is also home to the Edinburgh Kiltmaking Academy, which teaches tomorrow’s makers to create exceptional handsewn kilts. Founded by GNK in 2016, it combines traditional techniques with a rigorous new standard for kiltmaking.
With courses tailored to a wide range of abilities and availability, its proud graduates range from delighted hobbyists to busy professional kiltmakers - many of whom go on to work for GNK. The EKA team and students are putting together a wonderfully insightful series lifting the lid off this, so far, mysterious craft - watch our progress here.
