Kilt Outfit Hire FAQs
Do you offer UK or international delivery on your kilt hire options?
No, all kilt hire outfits must be collected and returned in person at our Edinburgh shop. We do not offer a courier service because we care deeply about preserving the quality, specialist pressing, and perfect fit of our garments.
However, we welcome bookings from all over the world. Whether you live in the UK or overseas, you can secure your kilt rental online and we will have it ready for you to collect as soon as you arrive in the city.
How much is a hire kilt fitting appointment?
A £10 non-refundable deposit is taken for the appointment which is then deducted from the overall price of the hire.
How long can I hire a kilt outfit for?
Our standard kilt outfit rental periods are 3 to 7 days. However, if you require an extended kilt hire, please just get in touch and we’ll arrange a bespoke rental period.
Do you offer discounts for large groups, corporate events or weddings?
We do indeed! We offer a 10% discount on any bookings for six or more outfits. For more information, head over to our dedicated weddings and corporate kilt hire pages.
What happens if I damage or spill something on the kilt?
First of all, don’t panic - we understand that accidents happen! All we ask is that you don’t try to wash or dry-clean the kilt yourself, as they require specialist care to maintain their pleats and fabric integrity. Simply blot the area gently with a clean, dry cloth and let us know when you return the outfit. Depending on the damage, we may charge a specialist cleaning or repair fee. The costs of these and more information can be found on our dedicated kilt hire terms page.
Can I hire just the kilt itself (not the whole outfit)?
Yes, absolutely. We have a range of kilt only hire options to choose from. You can also hire other singular items, such as jackets and waistcoats, ghillie brogues, trews and sporrans.
What happens if I need a last-minute kilt hire?
We have a dedicated same-day kilt hire service, with a selection of ready-to-wear kilts, jackets, waistcoats, and accessories to choose from. Simply call our hire team on 01315574349.
Where is the kilt hire shop?
Our hire shop is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile on the Canongate (19-21 St Mary's St, Edinburgh EH1 1TA). Just a short walk from Waverley train station, we’re a trusted choice for clients across the city and in surrounding areas such as Livingston, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline, to name just a few.
How much does it cost to rent a kilt outfit?
Our kilt outfit prices start at just £95, with prices varying depending on your choice of jacket style and tartan. Alternatively, you can book a kilt-only rental, with prices starting at just £55.
