Auld Scotland is actually a modern commemorative tartan in muted beige and maroon with shades of green, designed by Lochcarron of Scotland, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our National Bard, Robert Burns inspired by the modern version of his toast to the Haggis ;
"Ye Pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o’ fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!"
Inspired by the costumes and styling of Outlanders Claire Fraser, this generously large shawl measures approx 145cm square and can be worn so many ways ,offering inherent insulating warmth without bulkiness.
This traditional 10 oz soft wool tartan has incredibly fluidity, drape it , wrap it , tie it, belt it , pin it - the styling possibilities are endless.
