Tartan Design Consultation

Tartan Design Consultations are 1 hour and take place at our Canongate store. 

Tartan is an intrinsic and evolving part of our living culture. Creating a tartan pattern to celebrate your heritage, community or special celebration is a wonderful experience and leaves a lasting, tangible legacy. With an estimated 14,500 tartans in existence, it's not easy to come up with something new. Our small in-house team of designers draw on years of experience to provide you with a beautiful new tartan which is completely unique, from warp to weft.

Our design services allow for different levels of customer involvement and we also manage the tricky business of registering with the Scottish Register of Tartans. If you want to have your tartan woven and made up into garments and gifts (we really think you should!) we would be delighted to see you through the entire process.

During your Tartan Design Consultation, we will discuss the purpose and meaning of your design, the elements of sett and colour as well as registration and end use.
