...we went directly to Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers and were not disappointed! Edinburgh is teeming with souvenir shops that claim to sell "Made in Scotland" but often offer cheap imports.
Here you can actually get high-quality, authentic products, truly made in Scotland. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the fabrics and the beautiful, traditional selection.
The shop looks rather unassuming from the outside, but inside you'll find lovingly presented, genuine craftsmanship. The employees were very friendly, knowledgeable, and took their time...

Absolutely delightful experience! The staff are gracious and quickly accommodated my desire for a bespoke kilt. Appointments are available online or by stopping in. My wife got a scarf matching the tartan I selected (Monarch of the Glen) and I added a made to order dress sporran.
